Heat treatments are proven to be the best way to eliminate bed bugs. Other treatments while can be moderately effective does not guarantee the full elimination of bed bugs. Bed bugs like to hide in very tight spaces and usually cannot be seen by the human eye. This makes it hard for chemical spray treatments to reach every bed bug. Heat treatments work using industrial size heaters and high powered convection fans to the circulate the heat. Bed bugs die at 50 degrees Celsius or 122 degrees Fahrenheit.

There is a few different heat systems that companies use:

Propane indirect fired- These are the heaters that are placed outside with a long tube going into the area of treatment. Propane Recirculating- These heaters are completely enclosed in the treatment space. It has temperature control, CO2 monitor, and fresh air fans built in. We use this system paired with many fans to circulate the heat during the treatment and then cool down at the end. We believe this is the best system because it gets to high temperatures quickly without making it unsafe. This system is also completely discreet by not being visible or making much sound.

Electric- Electric heaters that use the clients own power source is generally a weaker heater. However, those connected to a diesel generator produce more heat. These generators are usually very large and loud making it hard to be discrete. Many thick cords would be running from the generator to infected space making it hard to treat condos and apartments. These are not discreet in any way.
